BBQ Octopus Tentacles

Tender octopus tentacles charred to perfection on the BBQ. Serve with fresh salad and a squeeze of lemon for a flavorful, Mediterranean-inspired dish.
Ingredients
- 1 kg Octopus tentacles, raw
- 3 tablespoons Olive oil
- Cayenne pepper, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Salad leaves & dressing
- Lemon wedges
Method
- Wash the octopus tentacles and place them in a pot. Cover with cold water and bring to the boil over high heat.
- Reduce the heat and simmer until tender (this could take up to 1 hour). Check tenderness by piercing with a fork.
- Remove from heat, cool slightly, and pat dry with kitchen paper.
- Preheat the BBQ, clean and oil the grates.
- Coat the tentacles with olive oil, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- BBQ the tentacles until charred (about 5 minutes), then turn and repeat. A good crunch is delicious.
- Remove from the BBQ, slice, and serve with salad and lemon wedges.
