Japanese Fried Octopus Balls
Crispy Japanese octopus balls served with a variety of delicious toppings—from classic Japanese BBQ sauce to creative twists like matcha salt and Japanese curry mayo. Perfect as a fun snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 x 400 gram packet of octopus balls
  • Oil, for shallow frying
  • Toppings:
    • Traditional – Japanese BBQ Sauce, Kewpie Mayonnaise, Seaweed Flakes, Bonito Flakes
    • Intriguing – Japanese Curry Powder mixed with Kewpie Mayonnaise, Bonito Flakes, Parmesan Cheese
    • Hyuga Style – Kewpie Mayonnaise, Seaweed Flakes, Flaky Salt
    • Wandercooks Style – Japanese Matcha Green Tea Salt

Method

  1. Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Shallow fry the octopus balls until heated through and golden.
  3. Drain on kitchen paper.
  4. Top with your choice of toppings and serve immediately.
